Ford Motor Company suppliers are required to comply with Restricted Substance Management Standard (RSMS), including its material reporting requirements. Compliance to the Restricted Substance Management Standard and IMDS reporting is a part of the terms of doing business with Ford and is a requirement of Q1. Additionally, compliance to RSMS is a requirement of the part approval process (PPAP) and new Manufacturing Site Assessment. This letter communicates the release of the 2011 RSMS reporting obligations. All Ford Motor Company internal and external suppliers are required to submit data in support of Vehicle Programs' timing deadlines. Compliance with RSMS is consistent with Ford Motor Company's commitment to environmental responsibility and conformance to governmental regulations in the US and around the globe. Full compliance is a requirement and a key element of Q1, PPAP/PSW and Program Engineering Sign-off events. Ford Motor Company would like all suppliers to be aware of and prepared for: United States H.R. 4173 - Conflict Minerals European Commission’s Potential New Resources Policy regarding Critical Raw Materials See section 1.13 in the 2011 Restricted Substance Management Standard Reporting Requirements and Guidelines document for details on these initiatives.
