World Wide Manufacturing Facilities R&M Forum (corpmfrm)
A Statement from the R&M Champion, Mr. Jim Padilla:

'With our customers demanding better and more complex products, the need for robust manufacturing processes capable of producing little or no variability, supported by reliability, easy to maintain and flexible equiptment is paramount. The Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) process is a critical element of the Ford Production System that assures our manufacturing equiptment and facilities operate at an optimum level with the least amount of interruption. Designed for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Reliability and Maintainability jointly will produce the highest level of safety and product quality, lowest manufacturing costs and the shorest delivery time to fulfill the customers expectations. High integrity R&M will need to be managed much like FMEA's, requiring review of R&M integrity and follow up to ensure attention to detail and delivery. It will become a part of program gateways and will become a key 'critical to success' factor in our committment to deliver Best In Class New Model Launches'.
